We are sending documents through Adobe Sign using the Adobe Text tags. When we allow for users to download the document and sign it manually it causes an issue with how the signatures appear on the document for the next signer.

Once the document arrives at the first signer, the text tags are converted to actual signature blocks and the signers do not actually see the text tags.

If the first signer elects to download the document and sign it manually, the user must then scan the document back in and upload it. Adobe Sign can no longer recognize that there is a second signature block available for signing for the next signer and places a new signature line at the bottom of the document.

The next signer must then choose to sign electronically or manually. In either circumstance, Adobe Sign requires the signature to be filled in the new signature block that has been placed at the bottom of the document despite having an open block for signatures in the originally designated area. If the user chooses to electronically sign, then only the “New Adobe Sign Signature Line” will have a signature. For purposes of the contract, the signature should at the very least be in the signature block meaning that the next signer will also need to download the document and sign manually. In order to load the document back in, they must also include the page with the new signature meaning they will either need to a) sign in both places or b) leave one of the signature blocks blank.

Manual signatories who sign first should not reset all of the signature fields for future signatures. It is idiotic this does it already

Hi Ashley, can you describe the workflow further? Are you wanting to move the signature of someone who signed via paper? That would not be possible since they already placed the signature.
